Flores Overland & Komodo Liveaboard Adventure

Uncover the heart and soul of Flores on a journey that connects the island’s breathtaking natural wonders with its deep-rooted cultural heritage. This thoughtfully curated adventure takes you from the lush highlands of Kelimutu to the pristine marine sanctuaries of Riung and the traditional charm of Wae Rebo village and Bena Village of Ngada— before setting sail through the iconic Komodo National Park.

Over 12 unforgettable days, you’ll travel through landscapes shaped by volcanoes, rainforest, and sea, each offering a different glimpse into Flores’ beauty and spirit. Hike to the mystical tri-colored lakes of Kelimutu at sunrise, relax in the natural hot springs of Bajawa, cycle through scenic mountain villages in Ruteng, and witness the fascinating archaeological legacy of Homo floresiensis at Liang Bua cave. Along the way, connect with local communities, taste authentic cuisine, and share stories with friendly islanders who make this region so special.

Your journey then continues by sea — navigating crystal-clear waters and remote islands aboard a traditional liveaboard. Encounter the legendary Komodo dragons in their rugged homeland, snorkel with vibrant marine life, and soak up unforgettable sunsets from the deck as the islands drift by.

Day 1: Arrival Ende - Moni

Pick up at Ende airport then get on the car to start the tour Flores Island, direct transfer to Moni with some stops on the way. A welcome Dinner will be at the Hotel, Our guide will explain the general program in details.

Day 2: Hiking Kelimutu Lake to Riung

Kelimutu three color lake is the amazing crater lake in Flores. Drive up to at 04.30 from hotel to the one of the most specular and mysterious sight Indonesian, Kelimutu Lake. Kelimutu means Mountain of the Spirits. Known for its famous 3 colour lakes: Turquoise, Blue and greenblack. It’s the dissolved minerals that give the different colours.
Then Trekking down through the village and jungle around 3 hours. Arrive at your hotel for breakfast then drive to Riung, with Lunch in Blue Stone Beach.

Day 3: Riung Hoping Island

Breakfast at your hotel. Embark on an exciting journey to Riung National Park with a traditional Boat, renowned for its pristine marine life. Snorkeling amidst the vibrant coral reefs surrounding the 17 islands, marveling at the diverse underwater ecosystem. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the scenic beauty of the park. As the day winds down, return to the main island and afternoon is free at leisure.

Day 4: Riung to So'a Hot spring

Morning free, then we drive to Bajawa and spend your time at SOA Mengeruda Hot spring. Bring along your swim wear to enjoy the natural spa by swimming there before heading to your Hotel in Bajawa.

Day 5: Traditional village to Ruteng

In the morning at 5 am hike to Wawo Muda crater, then back to the hotel for Breakfast. Afterwards, drive to Bena traditional village of Ngada tribes, located on the slope of mount Inerie. Then drive to Aimere for Arak traditional alcohol process and Lunch. After Lunch, drive to Ruteng with some photo stops on the way.

Day 6: Biking, Archeological site and Yoga

Starting early from your hotel, you have the option of a short cycle ride to a viewpoint with 360 degree views of the surrounding mountain ranges. The 2 hour ride is mostly downhill or flat, with a 20-minute medium ascent. It’s the perfect way to take in the sights, smells and sounds of local village life. For those not so keen to pedal, you can always hop in the bus and enjoy the view with slightly less effort.
After Breakfast, we leave for visiting Liang Bua cave. Liang Bua is a renowned limestone cave located near Ruteng, Flores, Indonesia. This significant archaeological site gained worldwide attention with the discovery of Homo floresiensis, a distinct human species nicknamed "the Hobbit" due to its diminutive size. Excavations at Liang Bua have unearthed a trove of fossils, including the remains of Homo floresiensis, alongside tools and evidence of other prehistoric species, offering invaluable insights into human evolution and the island's ancient past.
Lunch will be a local Restaurants.
In the Afternoon, we have an opportunity to join Hatha Yoga Class. Haṭha yoga is a branch of yoga. The Sanskrit word haṭha literally means "force" and thus alludes to a system of physical techniques
Hatha simply refers to the practice of physical yoga postures, meaning your Ashtanga, vinyasa, Iyengar and Power Yoga classes are all Hatha Yoga. The word “hatha” can be translated two ways: as “willful” or “forceful,” or the yoga of activity, and as “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha), the yoga of balance. Hatha practices are designed to align and calm your body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation.

Day 7: Spiderweb Rice field to Wae Rebo

Breakfast at the Hotel. Then continue inland drive Cancar to visit the spiderweb Ricefield and then to Denge for Lunch. After lunch, trek to Wae Rebo, a traditional village located in an ancient volcanic caldera reached only by footpath, where you'll be welcomed by the elders and a drink of wild-harvest Luwak coffee. Wae Rebo is a true example of successful community-based tourism, where the locals use your visit to supplement their traditional agricultural lifestyles and help keep their customs alive.

Day 8: Descend Wae Rebo & Scenic drive to Labuan Bajo

Breakfast in the village, then walk back around 2 hours to your pick-up point for the drive to Labuan Bajo with Lunch stop on the way and the drive to the airport to catch your flight at 16.05.

Day 9: Labuan Bajo Relax and Optional Day

Breakfast at Hotel. Enjoy a full day of leisure, enjoy the Hotel facilities or choose your own adventures to visit Batu Cermin Cave, Rangko Cave, see traditional Dance or you can discuss with the Guide for available activities on spot.

Day 10: Meet the Dragon & snorkeling at Pink Beach

Upon arrival, you will directly transfer to Labuan Bajo Harbour to embark on liveaboard. We start sailing towards Komodo Island, one of the best locations to see the dragons in their natural habitat. On arrival at the island, you will get a safety briefing and then start trekking from Loh Liang by following the trails of the dragons’ walking paths with a local ranger. We can only observe the dragons from a safe distance as the dragon is dangerous.
Then we will have a quick stop at the local museum before we return to the boat to continue the journey to Pink Beach. You have a chance to enjoy swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling (snorkeling gear is provided). Then we continue on to Padar island where our Boar will be overnight. Lunch and Dinner will be on Boat.

Day 11: Hiking Padar, Manta Rays & Kalong island

We hike up to the top of Padar island for sunrise and the return to the Boat for Breakfast. Then we cruise to Manta point, you can see the Manta Rays if you are Lucky and then continue to Kalong Island to observe thousands of Bats flying out from the Mangrove.

Day 12: Snorkeling at Kelor Island - Departure

Breakfast on Boat. We have a chance to snorkel around Kelor (snorkeling gear is provided). Please enjoy lunch when the Boat starts sailing back to Labuan Bajo harbor. Upon arrival in Labuan Bajo, then transfer directly to Komodo Airport for your onward journey with wonderful memories of your visit.
